Oil on canvas "Closing time" an original oil on canvas by John Davies-English born 1899 died 1985. Born in Wolverhampton he attended evening art school at the Manchester school of art in the company of C F Tunnicliffe and L S Lowry. He was a member of the Manchester Academy of fine art and became a council member in 1948. He was also a member of the Stockport Art Guild which he eventually became president of.
